Advanced Dental Technology
Modern tools for superior diagnostics, treatment planning, and outcomes
Commitment to Modern Dentistry
At Lincoln Smiles Dental, we believe that embracing modern technology is essential to providing exceptional patient care. We continuously invest in the latest dental equipment and techniques to ensure our patients receive the most advanced diagnostics, treatment planning, and clinical outcomes available today.
Technology in dentistry serves several important purposes. First, it allows us to diagnose problems earlier when they are often smaller and easier to treat. Second, advanced tools enable us to plan treatments more precisely and explain your options more clearly. Third, many modern technologies allow us to complete treatments faster and more comfortably. And finally, better technology often leads to more predictable, long-lasting results. All of these benefits directly translate to better outcomes and greater value for our patients.
Our practice stays current by combining cutting-edge technology with the clinical expertise of Dr. Sepi and our experienced team. The best technology in the world is only as good as the skills of the professionals using it, which is why we emphasize both.
Our Technology
CEREC Same-Day Crowns
One of the most revolutionary advances in modern dentistry is the CEREC system, which stands for "Chairside Economical Restoration of Esthetic Ceramics." This technology allows us to design, mill, and place custom ceramic crowns in a single appointment, eliminating the need for temporary crowns and multiple visits.
Rather than taking an impression and sending it to a lab where you wait two to three weeks for your permanent crown, we use intraoral scanning to capture a digital image of your tooth. Our CEREC mill then designs and creates a perfect ceramic crown right in our office, which we bond in place before you leave. The result is a beautiful, durable crown that looks completely natural and fits perfectly.
Benefits:
- Single appointment from start to finish
- No uncomfortable temporary crown
- Precise digital fit and shade matching
- Strong, durable ceramic material
Digital X-Rays
Digital radiography has revolutionized dental diagnostics by providing clear, detailed images while minimizing radiation exposure. Our digital x-ray system uses 80 percent less radiation than traditional film x-rays, making it significantly safer, especially for patients requiring multiple images over time.
Beyond safety, digital x-rays provide several advantages. The images appear on our computer screen in seconds, allowing us to discuss findings with you immediately. We can zoom in and enhance specific areas for better visualization. We can also easily compare current x-rays with previous ones to track changes over time. This technology is fundamental to modern dental diagnostics.
Benefits:
- Low radiation exposure
- Instant image display
- Image enhancement and zooming
- Easy comparison with past x-rays
Intraoral Cameras
Intraoral cameras are small, high-definition cameras that allow us to see and document the inside of your mouth in precise detail. These cameras can identify problems that might be invisible to the naked eye, including early cavities, cracks, stains, and areas of concern that need attention.
Beyond diagnostics, intraoral cameras dramatically improve patient communication. We can show you exactly what we see, explain problems clearly with visual evidence, and discuss treatment options with you looking at the same images we are. This transparency builds trust and helps you make informed decisions about your care.
Benefits:
- Detailed high-definition images
- Detection of hard-to-see problems
- Better patient understanding
- Documented treatment records
Digital Impressions
Traditional dental impressions involve filling trays with putty-like materials and holding them in your mouth until they set. Digital impressions use advanced scanning technology to capture a three-dimensional digital model of your teeth without any uncomfortable material in your mouth at all.
These digital scans are incredibly accurate and provide numerous benefits. They eliminate the gag reflex many patients experience with traditional impressions. They can be instantly transmitted to labs or milling machines for faster turnaround. And they allow us to show you a digital preview of potential treatments before we begin. Many patients prefer digital impressions for the comfort and accuracy they provide.
Benefits:
- Comfortable, gag-free impressions
- Exceptional accuracy
- Instant digital preview of treatments
- Faster lab turnaround times
